Position Summary:

The Quality Control & Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of instruments, meters, gauges and other testing and measuring equipment. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.   

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Internal Relationships: All Departments

External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the gage calibration and record keeping activities involved. 
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibration
  • Conduct testing and training to ensure the total measurement systems are adequate.
  • Ensure the gage library is controlled and maintained.
  • Research new gage technology and propose improvements where needed.
  • Perform other related duties as instructed
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years relevant experience in Quality Control.
  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated during majority of workday.
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude desired
  • Good arithmetic skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • PC, Windows, MS Office proficiency.

 

Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:   

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping. 
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
