  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Special Ed endorsement preferred

EDUstaff Substitute Teacher Pay Rates

Full Day

$150 per day (Non-Certified)

$160 per day (Certified)

$200 per day for long term substitutes

JOB DUTIES

You must be able to give clear instructions and assist the students in understanding a subject matter while maintaining discipline and control of the classroom. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts; ability to compute percentages and to interpret graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer skills necessary. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required talk or hear and sometimes traverse and sit. In case of emergency must be able to traverse about school campus and lead students to safety.    

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes of books and AV/laptop carts.  The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics describes here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
