Job Description

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):

• RDBMS Administration (Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, and RDS)
• Manage and patch database software, upgrades, and infrastructure
• Backup and recovery, ensure database availability and SLA
• Support Client applications ensuring availability and connectivity
• Manage cluster infrastructure for databases Oracle RAC (19C); MariaDB cluster (10.6x) and MSSQL Cluster (2016)
  
  

Desired Skills

• Enable alerts and monitor databases
• Performing database audits, patch management, and other tasks, as needed, to ensure regulatory compliance and a proactive security posture
• Database Capacity planning, resource optimization, and consolidation
• Database user management, password rotation, and auditing
• Database in-flight, at-rest encryption
• Database query language (SQL) and programming skills
  
  

Job Duties

• Ability to independently address database issues, troubleshooting, and resolution
• Perform quarterly DR planning and execution
• Documentation, Training, and SOP development and management
• Occasionally provide support during evening hours and planned weekend activities
• Must work with vendors to ensure databases are patched and optimized in functionality and compliance
• Database management on Linux systems, shell scripting, excellent knowledge of networking and storage (ISCSI, fiber, etc.,) infrastructure (NetApp, ExtremIO, etc.)
• Knowledge to manage Database tools like SQL Developer, MSQL Workbench, PgAdmin, toad, Enterprise Manager, etc.,
• Manage Database Storage management like EMC AppSync
