The Accounting Manager position is an individual contributor role to start, and you will be responsible for the full scope of general accounting functions including balance sheet and P&L ownership, month-end close and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606. The ideal candidate has both public accounting and experience in smaller company environments (tech/engineering strongly preferred) where he/she has owned it all.

About the Role:
This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our accounting books, financial statements, maintaining robust internal controls and supporting the company’s accounting & financial objectives. This role, in partnership with the CFO, plans, directs, and manages all aspects of day-to-day accounting for our growing lines of business, and runs our general ledger with a focus on accuracy and completeness. In this role, you are a doer and strategic thinker. This role also is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports, overseeing budgets and forecasts, managing internal controls, and providing strategic financial advice to leadership to support informed decision-making and overall financial health.
Compensation: $120k - $140k Annual base, plus bonus
NOTE: This is an onsite position, 5 days a week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure an effective monthly close.
- Oversee general ledger and do the month end close process including review and approval of all journal entries and completion of all account reconciliations across all entities.
- Foster and lead a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development for other indirect team members
- KPI reporting of revenue, receivables and collections activity to CFO.
- Interpret financial results, investigate anomalies, and recommend corrective actions that support growth goals
- Review and post significant and/or complex revenue transactions such as multi-year contracts, deferral of revenue when applicable to align appropriate reporting of revenue.
- Interact with various internal departments to ensure accuracy of invoicing and revenue reporting.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Develop and prepare ad hoc reports as necessary.
- Assist with financial annual audits in support auditors.
- Manage all tax reporting and preparation of supporting schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- CPA license
- 4-7 years accounting experience
- Small company, software tech industry experience with doing hands on, all related functions
- Some public and large corporate experience helpful
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
