Installer – In-Home Fiber & Cable Installation (1099 Contract)

We are seeking dependable and experienced Installers to join our telecommunications team as 1099 Independent Contractors. This role involves installing and running fiber and cable inside customer homes, including attics, crawlspaces, basements, and under-home areas, while delivering reliable high-speed internet and telecommunications services.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and route fiber optic and cable inside residential homes, including attics, crawlspaces, under-house areas, interior walls, and exterior entry points.
• Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and service activation.
• Safely access tight or elevated spaces to complete installation tasks.
• Install and configure customer equipment, including ONTs, routers, modems, Wi-Fi extenders, and related hardware.
• Add customer equipment to accounts using mobile applications and properly close out jobs through required systems.
• Load, transport, and carry tools, equipment, and materials needed for each job.
• Perform drilling, fastening, cable routing, and other installation tasks using hand and power tools.
• Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area inside and around customer homes.
• Communicate professionally with customers and company personnel.
• Document completed work and report any issues or safety concerns.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic splicing experience is required.
• This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must have your own reliable vehicle suitable for traveling between job sites.
• Must provide and maintain your own tools necessary to perform installations and fiber splicing.
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and under homes, as well as on ladders and rooftops.
• Comfortable performing physically demanding work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently while managing time efficiently.
• Experience in fiber installation, telecommunications, low-voltage wiring, or cable installation is preferred.

Required

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle suitable for traveling between job sites.
• Own basic installation tools (drill, hand tools, ladders if applicable, etc.).
• This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
• Experience with residential cable, fiber, satellite, or low-voltage installations.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily job assignments.
• Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, on ladders, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs. and safely handle ladders and equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Smartphone capable of running required work-order and dispatch apps.
• Ability to pass a background check, if required by your customer or contract.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Fiber optic splicing experience.
• Experience with OTDRs, light meters, and fiber testing equipment.
• Knowledge of GPON/XGS-PON networks.
• Experience installing ONTs, routers, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Experience reading construction prints or fiber network maps.
