AMA seeks to hire two fellows to support the NASA Interagency Satellite Observation Needs (ISON) program office within the Satellite Needs Portfolio. The fellows will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to synthesize federal agency needs and build solutions to address needs, identify gaps, and map stakeholder engagement. They will engage across NASA’s Earth Science Division to increase efficiency and collaboration. They will support scientific research and decision-making through the development of several deliverables, such as a comprehensive database and report. This opportunity is a full-time, remote, 1-year term position supporting the Satellite Needs Portfolio as part of the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) contract.
The hourly rate is $25.32 to $31.50 determined telework location.

Responsibilities
- Conduct stakeholder and end-user engagement activities, including interviews, surveys, and meetings, to identify Earth science data needs, priorities, and gaps.
- Gather, document, and analyze user requirements and feedback related to Earth science datasets, products, tools, and services.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess data usability, accessibility, operational applicability, and decision-support needs.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, presentations, and recommendations that synthesize engagement findings and analytical results.
- Collaborate with scientists, technical teams, program managers, and external partners to communicate user needs and support solution development.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among diverse stakeholders, including government, academic, scientific, operational, and community organizations.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure engagement activities and deliverables are completed in accordance with project objectives and timelines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science related field, including social science or policy experience through human geography, public policy, or other fields.
- Experience conducting stakeholder or end-user engagement activities, including interviews, workshops, surveys, or focus groups.
- Ability to coordinate with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Resilient and good under pressure.
- Must be a US citizen and work from within the 50 United States or Washington DC.
- Expected to work during regular business hours (9 AM – 5 PM ET).
- Master’s Degree in Earth Science related field.
- Previous work experience with NASA or another federal agency, contributing to projects that required technical expertise, collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to high scientific standards.
- Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative information and synthesizing findings into clear recommendations and actionable reports.
- Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team.
- Familiar with data analysis and visualization.
- Some knowledge of geospatial tools and/or remote sensing.
