Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital/Board Design to join our engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and verification of complex digital circuit boards and embedded hardware systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering to deliver reliable, high-performance electronic solutions that meet product requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of digital hardware systems, including high-speed circuit boards and embedded platforms.
- Own the full board design lifecycle: requirements definition, schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout guidance, bring-up, and validation.
- Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis for high-speed digital interfaces (DDR, Ethernet, USB, etc.).
- Design power supplies including switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC converters, and linear regulators.
- Integrate and validate analog-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analog (DAC) converters in mixed-signal board designs.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure form-factor and thermal compliance.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to transition designs from prototype through pilot builds into volume production, addressing DFM/DFT considerations and supply chain challenges.
- Drive board bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis of hardware issues using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
- Generate documentation including design specifications, test plans, and compliance reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and review peer designs to ensure best practices and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements to design processes and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8 years of experience in digital hardware/board-level design.
- Proven expertise in high-speed digital design, including DDR, Ethernet, USB, or other complex interfaces.
- Strong experience in power supply design: switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC converters, and linear regulators.
- Hands-on experience with ADC and DAC integration in board-level designs.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
- Strong lab skills for prototyping, debugging, and validation.
- Experience transitioning designs from prototype to high-volume production, including supplier interaction and manufacturing support.
- Experience with FPGA integration and working with firmware teams a plus.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (FCC/CE, EMI/EMC, etc.) depending on industry.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to lead projects independently while collaborating in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
The position is full-time, on-site, and available to be filled immediately. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
