Analog Devices’ Subsystems & Sensors Group is seeking a Radio Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Software Defined Radio (SDR) to join our COTS Module team. In this role, you’ll leverage your advanced understanding of wireless radio architectures and integrated circuit technologies to help shape next-generation system platforms.
You’ll collaborate closely with ADI’s multidisciplinary teams—including system hardware engineers, system architects, and technology specialists—as well as strategic customers, to design, develop, and validate cutting-edge solutions that showcase ADI’s leadership in wireless communications and aerospace & defense applications.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop next generation Commercial System-On-Modules (SOMs) for Aerospace and Defense as well as the Wireless Communications markets.
· Work in close collaboration with a cross-functional team of Engineers such as System Architects, System Designers, FPGA, Software, Algorithms, Partners, Strategic Marketing and Lead Customers to understand application problems, propose and justify new system solutions
· Work with ADI’s technology teams to understand their latest generation products and incorporate these into new system hardware designs.
· Support customer system integration, troubleshooting, and testing.
· Develop customer facing documentation and support customers by phone, email and on-site visits.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Candidate Credentials
BS/MS/pHD in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education/experience combination combined with:
Core Competencies & Technical Expertise
- Extensive experience with transceivers, software-defined radios (SDRs), and RF/microwave hardware including mixers, PLLs, ADCs/DACs, and data converters.
- Proficient in MATLAB, Python, C/C , and .NET for SDR configuration, lab automation, algorithm development, and verification.
- Deep understanding of radio system fundamentals and trade-offs: gain, noise figure, linearity, phase noise, impedance mismatch, etc.
- Strong grasp of RF, analog, digital, and mixed-signal design principles; experienced in RF cascade analysis.
- Familiarity with 5G physical layer, phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite/military communication systems.
- Skilled in PCB design and diagnostic lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.).
