Anakim Consulting has an immediate need for a senior level Implementation Specialist with enterprise-level Configuration Management expertise working with ServiceNow CMDB and hands-on experience supporting enterprise architecture, IT operations, and data governance. Qualified candidates will have enterprise-scale configuration management experience supporting business-driven CMDB planning, organizational alignment, CI modeling, governance, and best-practice implementation, preferably in a government contracting environment.
Responsibilities include:
Requirements and Analysis
- Elicit stakeholder needs across Application Owners, IT Operations, Security, etc.-identify required CIs, critical attributes, and inter-CI relationships.
- Document business requirements into clear functional/non-functional artifacts (use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria).
- Analyze existing data sources; identify gaps, inconsistencies, and migration challenges into the CMDB.
Data Model Design and Definition
- Define CMDB classes and attributes (e.g., servers, applications, databases) with Architects and Platform Admins, including enumeration values and ownership fields.
- Establish relationships (e.g., "runs on," "connects to," "is composed of") to accurately represent the environment.
- Normalize and standardize data to enforce CMDB consistency
Process Definition and Integration
- Map CMDB-related processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Asset) so the CMDB supports these workflows effectively.
- Define data governance-policies for data ownership, entry, updates, and data-quality assurance.
- Specify integration requirements with discovery tools, ticketing systems, and monitoring to ensure correct/automatic data flows.
Data Quality, Validation and Testing
- Define data-quality rules and metrics for accuracy and completeness; establish monitoring and remediation processes.
- Plan and conduct UAT with business users; design test cases to validate functional requirements and expected value.
Reporting & KPIs
- Identify reporting needs and dashboards that provide environment insights, decision support, and compliance monitoring.
- Define CMDB-enabled KPIs (e.g., MTTR, change success rates) to measure operational outcomes.
Training, Adoption and Ongoing Support
- Develop training materials and documentation for user groups; deliver training sessions to drive adoption and proficiency.
- Provide ongoing support and clarification on CMDB functionalities and data usage.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate workshops to gather requirements, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
- Translate between business and technical teams-ensure concepts and outcomes are clearly understood across groups.
Requirements include:
- U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship)
- Current DHS Suitability or eligibility to obtain CBP security access
- Availability to work on-site
- 10 years of professional IT experience or combination of education and experience:
- BS degree (or 4 years of additional experience as substitute)
- MS degree (or 2 years of additional experience as substitute)
- 5 years over overall experience in the following areas:
- Enterprise ITSM / CMDB / Configuration Management experience
- Demonstrated expertise in CMDB planning, modeling, governance, and data quality frameworks
- Experience designing CI classes, relationships, and lifecycle management for complex organizations
- ServiceNow expertise including:
- Proficiency with ServiceNow CMDB, automated discovery, CSDM
- Ability to lead workshops, stakeholder discussions, and cross-team alignment sessions
- Strong understanding of service mapping principles and organizational CMDB ownership models
- Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, facilitation, and standards development capabilities
- Experience working within large, federated, or regulated environments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Availability to support full on-site schedule
Preferred qualifications.
- Current or recent Entry on Duty (EOD) access is preferred
- ITIL v4 or v5 certification
- Prior federal contracting environment experience
- Experience with enterprise architecture, IT operations, data governance
