We are currently looking for a Director of Operations.

Principle Responsibilities/Position Purpose:

A Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of guest services, telephone, and bell staff services, shuttle services, housekeeping, food and beverage, security, engineering, and laundry in an attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner. The Director of Operations is also overall responsible for providing all guests with quality service while maximizing hotel revenue and productivity and developing managers and employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, and Capital Budget.
  • Closely monitoring the financial performance of all departments, monitoring all expenses to ensure that they are kept in line with budget and providing solutions to improve problem areas and assisting in implementing corrective measures.
  • Coordinating the organization and administrative functions in all areas of the hotel including but not limited to Food & Beverage and Rooms Division. Assist office in any other administrative duties as needed. ensuring that staffing is maintained at an appropriate level to match business demand.
  • Establishing monthly reporting system to monitor, handling all guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution.
  • Participating in all regular and ad hoc operational meetings and in the formulation of strategic business plans.
  • Support the General Manager in the overall management and strategic direction of the hotel, assuming the responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the General Manager based upon the requirements of the company.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a comparable position in a hotel operation. Comparable hotel size and scope experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge in of all aspects of Hotel Operations.
  • Excellent organizations and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of law, legal codes, government regulations regarding lodging, consumptions of food & beverage, and labor.
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate and train.
  • Proven track record of successes in achieving revenue objectives.

OTHER DUTIES:

Assimilate into Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of exceptional service. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in Hospitability and/or Business Management. Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), type 55-60 wpm, have a strong analytical experience and attention to detail.
Minimum of 3 years of experience required and or training in similar position in Hotel Management. Knowledge Symphony and Opera Systems a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write communication for presentations regarding the hotel and services available. Ability to speak effectively before groups or guest or colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write communication for presentations regarding the hotel and services available. Ability to speak effectively before groups or guest or colleagues.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
