Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect with strong expertise in Snowflake, PostgreSQL, cloud data platforms, data architecture, and performance optimization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and deploying enterprise-scale data platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. This role will focus on data architecture, schema and data modeling, database performance, automation, data governance, and enabling advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect large-scale data platforms using Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
- Lead database and data-platform architecture across hybrid and cloud environments.
- Develop scalable solutions for data ingestion, processing, transformation, and curation.
- Design enterprise data models, schemas, and architecture patterns for structured and unstructured data.
- Drive database and query performance optimization.
- Develop automation frameworks for provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and operational management.
- Collaborate with data engineering, application, platform, security, and analytics teams.
- Establish best practices for data governance, quality, security, compliance, and lifecycle management.
- Design high-availability, backup, disaster recovery, and multi-region strategies.
- Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-native data platforms and serverless technologies.
- Architect solutions supporting business intelligence, analytics, machine learning, and generative AI use cases.
- Design and support RAG, vector search, and AI-enabled data solutions.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies, platforms, knowledge graphs, and data-fabric capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams.
- Communicate architectural decisions and technical strategy to senior stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database architecture, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database administration, architecture, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse architecture and data modeling.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
- Experience designing scalable and highly available data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and compliance.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data.
- Experience integrating data platforms with analytics, BI, and AI/ML solutions.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Snowpark, Snowflake ML, or Snowpark Container Services.
- Experience with RAG, vector databases/vector search, Azure AI Search, or generative AI.
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Talend, Power BI, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with knowledge graphs and modern data-fabric architectures.
- Experience with transactional data and AI/ML workloads.
- Experience in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience leading cloud modernization and data-platform transformation initiatives.
