Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP Warranty Management Functional SME to lead the design, configuration, and support of SAP Warranty Management processes in S/4HANA or ECC environments. This role requires strong functional expertise in warranty operations along with integration knowledge across logistics, finance, and after-sales service processes.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, technical teams, and system integrators to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient warranty solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Warranty Process Design & Configuration
Lead end-to-end SAP Warranty Management (WTY) process design including:
Claim creation, validation, settlement, and recovery
Warranty agreements and contracts
Pricing, labor rates, and reimbursement logic
Decision trees and rules configuration
Defect coding and categorization
Configure SAP Warranty Management components:
Warranty Claim Management
Claim types, submissions, and reporting
Status management and workflows
Settlement types and accounting flows
Functional Leadership & Integration
Translate business requirements into functional design documents (FDD/PDD).
Conduct fit-gap analysis and lead business workshops.
Recommend best-practice warranty models for automotive, manufacturing, and industrial industries.
Support integration with:
OEM systems
Dealer portals
After-sales systems
Third-party warranty analytics tools
Testing, Data & Deployment
Develop test scenarios and lead SIT/UAT activities.
Support data migration for:
Warranty claims
Installed base
Service history
Pricing and condition records
Lead cutover and go-live activities related to warranty data.
Provide training, documentation (SOPs), and hypercare support.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Experience
7 12 years of experience in SAP Warranty Management (WTY)
Strong understanding of:
After-sales processing
Service operations
Warranty settlement and recovery
Hands-on configuration experience in:
SAP Warranty Management
SD
CS / SM
Technical & Integration Skills
Experience writing functional specs for:
Enhancements, workflows, BAPIs, BADIs
Knowledge of:
IDocs and APIs
PI/PO or CPI middleware
Familiarity with SAP BRF is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with:
S/4HANA Service Management
Advanced Returns Management (ARM)
Fiori applications
Knowledge of FI/CO integration for warranty accounting.
