Anacapa Engineering and Design, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidates for an Engineer in our Electrical Group to join our team located in Bakersfield, Ca.

Position Description
The candidate will support electrical engineering activities, including the development of single line diagrams, hazardous area classification plans, conduit routing plans, cable tray plans, conduit and cable schedules, grounding plans, Equipment, Instrument, and PLC wiring diagrams, instrument data sheets, logic diagrams, etc. This is a fantastic opportunity for a personable and team oriented, self-motivated and resourceful, high energy, and adaptable individual with a great attitude who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a team, this work will involve the engineering and design of electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, motor controls, Instrumentation & Controls, and SCADA communications.
· Ability to read and create electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation drawings.
· Ability to check work prepared by drafters and designers to insure engineering standards and drafting guidelines achieved.
· Ability to specify equipment, coordinate with vendors to obtain estimates and quotes, read and understand Vendor information.
· Knowledge of NEC, GO-95, GO-128, NFPA 497, API RP-500.
· Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team.
· Candidate will be expected to support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture.
· Prior to employment with Anacapa, this position will require the successful passing of a drug screen.

Project Management: Works to meet client’s expectations for technical quality, meeting deadlines and completing work on budget. Assists in preliminary scoping, job definition, and cost estimating efforts.
Computer Literacy: Proficient in most technical PC applications.
Process Improvements: Works to develop project technical and implementation improvements through suggestions, team brainstorming and other industry practices. Suggests improvements for utilization on other projects.
Safety Awareness: Practices and designs for safe work activities. Becomes increasingly familiar with applicable industry safety designs and regulations.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; ability to write conforming to a prescribed style and format.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).

Often an SSE (Short Service Employee), special considerations are necessary prior to any potential field work assignments.
Education and Experience
· 4-year degree from an ABET accredited engineering program in electrical, controls, or related engineering discipline and/or Professional Engineer (PE)
· Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite and Bluebeam
· Working knowledge of electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP)
Preferred
- Background in Industrial Energy-related Facilities: Oil and gas, solar, renewable natural gas (RNG), Renewable Diesel, and Carbon Capture (CCS).
- Work Experience in Electrical Engineering in consulting engineering or industrial firm
Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT)
