We are actively hiring for an Optical Sales Associate for our optical voted #1 in Monmouth County in Monmouth Health and Life Magazine. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting eyeglasses based on their prescriptions and personal preferences
- Conduct basic eye assessments, including measuring pupillary distance and fitting frames accurately
- Educate patients about lens options, frame styles, vision plans, and proper eyewear maintenance to enhance their experience
- Maintain detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems (Officemate), ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Process eyewear sale and insurance benefits accurately
- Support laboratory processes by verifying lens prescriptions, managing inventory, and scheduling dispensing
- Collaborate with the optician and optometrists to understand prescriptions and create an optimal patient experience
Experience
- Someone motivated to grow in retail with sales experience and excellent customer service skills and sales performance
- Prior experience in optical retail sales or clinic environments is highly desirable; WILLINGNESS AND MOTIVATION TO LEARN IS MOST IMPORTANT
- Familiarity with ophthalmology concepts, anatomy of the eye, and medical terminology enhances your ability to serve patients effectively
- Experience working with EMR systems such as Officemate or other electronic medical records platforms is preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to lens fitting and frame adjustments is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
