Daycare Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and the ability to create a nurturing and educational environment. This role involves providing care, supervision, and support to children in a daycare setting, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their development through engaging activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with children in daily activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
• Provide care for toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and assisting with personal hygiene.
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all children, including those with special needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the daycare space to ensure a safe environment.
• Administer first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies.

Experience

• Previous experience in babysitting, caregiving, or nannying is highly desirable.
• Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with special education practices is beneficial for supporting diverse learning needs.
• A strong ability to educate children through play-based learning approaches is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree including, or in addition to, 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field AND One year of full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program AND one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work New York State Child Day Care Regulations
• OR New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential AND One year of full-time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program AND one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or related field of work
