Duties
- Lead structured swimming lessons tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and safety protocols with clarity and enthusiasm
- Monitor participants closely to ensure safety during all activities, acting swiftly in emergency situations
- Incorporate fun and motivating activities to keep students engaged and eager to learn
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and confidence in the water
- Collaborate with team members to develop lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
Skills
- Proven experience as a lifeguard or swim instructor, with strong water safety knowledge
- Background in sports coaching, teaching, or martial arts such as karate or judo enhances instructional effectiveness
- Experience working with children or students in educational or childcare settings
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere
- Knowledge of physical education principles and experience teaching swimming or related sports like basketball or cheerleading
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills paired with the ability to motivate learners of all ages and skill levels
