Job Title: Machinist Posting Start Date: 4/29/26 Posting Location: Ada (Grand Rapids), MI Requisition ID: 43000 Job title: Machinist Department / Division: Global Engineering & Facilities/Manufacturing Pay Rate: $28-42.00/hour, depending on job classification Location: Ada, MI What do we need: We are looking for a Machinist to join our Skilled Trades/Facilities Manufacturing Team. This position will operate on 1st shift, and those hours are Monday - Friday from 7 am - 3 pm. What’s special about this team: Our Ada Maintenance Team is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility and manufacturing-related equipment at our World Headquarters complex. It is comprised of over 100 highly qualified Skilled Trades employees. Our Machine Shop equipment and technologies are kept up-to-date and modern, and we maintain the equipment to a high standard. We also encourage our machinists to develop skills and abilities on all equipment so they are proficient and capable. What’s special about this role: In this role, you will interpret engineering drawings/specifications, sketches, and written/oral instructions to machine various components. This person will operate and program manual and CNC equipment, working to close tolerances and inspecting work using precision measuring instruments. You will read, interpret, and edit CNC programming as required to mitigate production delays. Maintain and return all equipment to the proper storage area, such as tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Perform routine operator preventive maintenance functions such as daily lubrication, chip removal, and cleaning machines, tables, and surrounding areas as required. Train other machinists as needed. At this level, you will machine complex parts on multiple machines with repeatability and accuracy, troubleshoot equipment problems on the manufacturing floor, develop prototypes to eliminate or facilitate manufacturing bottlenecks, and partner with Research and Development, Engineering, and others to reduce manufacturing costs of machined components. Required qualifications: HS Diploma (or GED) One of the following; Journeyman’s card as a Machinist, or currently enrolled in an Apprenticeship program. 8000+ hours of service under a Journeyman Machinist (proof of service required) Certificate Program as a machinist and experience Minimum 4 years’ experience in a facilities/skilled trades environment Valid Driver’s license Skills to be successful in the role: Demonstratable Skills to be preferred for this role: 4 & 5 Axis CNC Machining and programming proficiency Proficient in MasterCam Software v24, create effective and efficient toolpaths, use tool libraries, create setup sheets and post to correct machines. Solidworks modeling experience, ability to create complex 3D shapes, detailed prints and correct tolerancing applied. Experience using a CMMS or EAM application to track and manage work orders Experience reverse engineering complex parts with advanced metrology skills, Faro Arm experience a plus Mentor junior level trades on skills and knowledge History of continued development and adaptation of new technologies Strong problem-solving skills and mental agility in a dynamic environment Amway does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
