What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Supervisor to lead the daily operations of the QC Chemistry Laboratory. In this role, you will oversee testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure results meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. The supervisor will provide hands-on leadership to a technical team, ensure the laboratory maintains the capacity and readiness needed to support production timelines, and foster strong cross-functional partnerships to enable reliable product release and overall business success.
This position will lead a team of 15-18 individuals who work daily to uphold the superior quality, safety and regulatory standards which are fundamental to Amway’s quality reputation. One of your main goals will be to ensure the lab is ready and able to handle the increase of testing that will come by the end of 2026 Your team will play a key role in supporting Amway’s supply chain operations to ensure we meet product demand in all markets we serve.
There will be frequent travel to CA in this role, about once every two months, until the end of 2026.
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of 15-18 people responsible for testing, inspecting, and reviewing raw materials and finished products in a chemistry laboratory.
- Providing oversight and prioritization of quality control laboratory activities.
- Partnering with supply chain, quality assurance, and internal/external suppliers to ensure delivery timelines are met
- Demonstrated ability to lead quality investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Recruiting, hiring, directing, developing, and evaluating staff in the accomplishment of project and function-specific activities.
Required Qualifications:
- BS Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Research, and development, and/or supply chain in the CPG, food, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Understands and applies quality management principles, including key concepts, terminology, and tools aligned with industry standards.
- Demonstrates the ability to independently identify customer and stakeholder needs, implement process improvements, and continuously monitor performance to ensure expectations are met.
- Possesses laboratory experience and working knowledge of various analytical chemistry instruments.
- Demonstrates strong understanding and application of cGMP requirements and laboratory compliance expectations.
- Leads investigations to identify root causes and implements effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interprets and analyzes complex datasets to support data-driven decisions related to product and raw material quality.
