What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - SEVERE DISABILITIES position at AMVET BOULEVARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL?
Responsible for curriculum planning and implementation of IEPs. The Special Education Teacher collaborates and coordinates with administrators, educators, and instructional assistants. They co-treat/provide services to students with the school counselor, therapists and other educators. The Special Education Teacher is a liaison with families & providers and provides educational services to students in partnership with other students.
The ideal candidate will have a Massachusetts DESE state certification – Special Education Teacher, strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as effective problem-solving skills. They will be knowledgeable and proficient with Federal/State laws and regulations and the IEP Team meeting process.
