Job Summary
Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to assigned geographic region Assistant Division Engineers in the Sub-Division to ensure efficient and cost-effective management of infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection. Work in both office and field settings, including night operations, collaborating closely with gang supervisors and Transportation Management in all weather conditions.
Assist the Manager Engineering Production in the day-to-day operations of the Structures Production Department to include the maintenance and construction of bridges, platforms, fences, drainage improvements, station block ties, staircases, retaining walls, walkways, and handrails. Daily tasks will include responsibilities in both the office and the field in all types of weather conditions to support a 24/7 operation.

Essential Functions
- Coordinate night work activities within IMCS (Infrastructure Maintenance & Construction Services), ensuring adherence to outage requirements for maintaining OTP (On-Time Performance).
- Provide 24/7 support for planned work and emergencies.
- Monitor field activities to enforce safety protocols, driving safety culture improvement and preventing injuries.
- Ensure regulatory inspections' timely and high-quality performance through field oversight.
- Assist supervisors with injury support, including transportation and documentation.
- Plan all construction phases for the installation of new bridges and other structures.
- Coordinate and schedule all work activities for major track outages in conjunction with various departments including communication & signals, electric traction, track, and transportation, to accomplish and adhere to established work schedules.
- Request and monitor the status of procurement for all materials and services required.
- Ensure proper delivery, storage, and installation of materials as well as the performance of any contracted services.
- Communicate with the system structures office and provide technical support in the field for all maintenance and construction activities.
- Remain available 24/7 to respond to emergencies and interruptions to the operations.
- Support planned work on weekends and nights in the field.
- Comply with FRA, local, and national codes for construction and maintenance of bridges and other structures.
- Distribute all B&B-related information letters to required personnel.
- Schedule technical training, safety training, safety compliance training, and physical exams for all direct reports.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience
- 3 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Qualified or possess sufficient experience to be qualified in: BMWE and ARASA labor agreements, FRA Regulations, RWP, NORAC, AMT2.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
- Plus 5 or more years of relevant work experience preferred
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to acquire
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Construction, specifically fall protection
- Demonstrated knowledge of steel and concrete design and implementation
- Proficient in interfacing with employees at all levels and collaborating across IMCS and Transportation Departments.
- Skilled and experienced in MS Office, including creating spreadsheets, presentations, and memorandums.
- Demonstrates expertise in railroad infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and construction, with basic knowledge of related crafts.
- Knowledgeable in railroad operations, operating rules, and divisional processes, including track and OCS outages.
- Familiar with Federal Railroad Regulations, including Roadway Worker Protection.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to interface with all levels of employees including both external and internal customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge and applied experience in railroad operations, operating rules, and divisional operating processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management including scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and coordinating efforts with other technical disciplines.
