AmTECH Microelectronics is a semiconductor packaging solutions and services company located in Silicon Valley. Our services include; design for manufacturing, process development, and prototype to volume level production. We have an immediate opening for a Microelectronics Packaging & Design Engineer.
Job Responsibilities
· Review customer documentation, statements of work, workflows, and CAD files. This also includes; technical data sheets of material, substrates, interposers, etc.
· Provide customers with feedback on design guidelines for packaging and design.
· This position will define, correct, and monitor the manufacturing process for microelectronics assemblies.
· Responsible for working with process engineers to help develop programs and applications for: flip chip bonding equipment, die bonding equipment, wire bonding equipment, microscopy, profilometers, dispensing equipment, and more.
· Utilize AutoCAD Inventor for projects.
· Oversee the management of tools, fixtures, substrates, and materials including solders, epoxies alloys, pastes, and wires.
· Consult customer’s via PowerPoint presentations and AutoCAD documents that highlight design improvements for manufacturability.
Job Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree; mechanical or material science preferred.
· 3 years of experience industry experience.
· Knowledgeable with design rules for manufacturing and packaging semiconductors – electronics and photonics.
· Able to make recommendations to process engineers and work in a team environment.
· Able to keep records, make reports, and requisition supplies as needed.
· U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (We are a Government Supplier).
Other Experience or Abilities
· Flexible to work overtime when required.
· Must be able to lift or carry up to 20 pounds.
· This position requires, walking, bending, sitting, and standing on a ladder, balance, dexterity, and visual detail.
· Knowledge of microelectronics manufacturing, ESD & FOD mitigation, ISO9001, and raw materials used in PCB Assembly and Microelectronics.
