You’ll serve as both a technical authority and strategic leader, driving the development and execution of innovative electrical design solutions for some of the most sophisticated industrial facilities in the world. Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Innovation
- Provide direction and oversight for all electrical engineering work across concurrent high-tech infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IES, and client-specific standards.
- Oversee and approve complex electrical systems including:
- Power distribution (including UPS, generators, and redundancy)
- Transient voltage surge suppression, specialized grounding
- Major equipment selection (e.g., switchgear, transformers, MCCs)
- Power system studies (arc flash, short circuit, load flow, etc.)
- Low-voltage and life safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, telecom)
- Lighting systems including cleanroom-specific lighting
- Lightning protection and grounding electrode systems
- Lead design integration with multidisciplinary teams using BIM/VDC tools.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and tools for improved accuracy, efficiency, and innovation.
Department Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team.
- Foster a collaborative and technically rigorous culture.
- Drive onboarding, continuing education, and PE/certification support.
- Conduct performance evaluations and career development planning.
- Support hiring, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
Financial Management & Strategic Planning
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables for technical excellence and profitability.
- Develop and manage department budget and operational performance.
- Improve workflows, quality control, and engineering best practices.
- Partner with business development teams to support client proposals, technical presentations, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Identify and develop new service offerings in response to evolving market needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain via reciprocity strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in electrical design for advanced manufacturing, industrial, or high-tech facilities.
- Demonstrated success in managing technical teams and leading complex projects.
- Deep understanding of industry codes, engineering analysis tools, and high-performance system design.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Experience with departmental budgeting, financial oversight, and business development is a plus.
