General Job Description:
This team member will work alongside the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure all day-to-day activities necessary to keep material efficiently flowing in and out of the EED warehouse are completed. Day to day activities include receiving material, organizing, shipping, cleaning, stock-keeping, reading and staying on top of email communications. Provide support to members of various departments. The warehouse assistant is responsible for the safe operation of the forklift to load, unload, locate or relocate materials and the stacking/pulling of elevator equipment to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity. Working as a team is required. The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for understanding and working within the EED Warehouse Operations policies and procedures and all company safety policies.
Education/Experience/Training:
• 3 years of job related experience
• High School Diploma
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Knowledge of UPS, Federal Express, RPA Systems Helpful
• Current Forklift certification mandatory
• Familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Operate material handling equipment to load/unload freight to move product from staging areas to/from trailers in an effective and safe manner. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently as required, including completion of daily inspections and performance of minor maintenance.
Advise management of all equipment problems and failures.
• Efficiently, safely, neatly, stack and store merchandise in assigned locations while maintaining height and weight restrictions.
• Pull/pick customer orders for shipment or stake bed delivery, assemble the various types of merchandise, ensure the exact type and quantity of merchandise is shipped. (I.E. check for accuracy)
and record numbers. Complete all documentation required in a clear, concise manner efficiently.
• Report daily on all purchase order and will calls received to purchasing department.
• Maintain detailed tracking information on product moving in and out of the warehouse and surrounding areas of the warehouse
• Loading and unloading of all incoming/outgoing freight shipments in a safe manner and effective manner.
• Responsible for UPS/Federal Express/RPA documentation, handling and procedure for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Actively communicate with Logistics, Project Management, Superintendents, Field staff, etc.
• Take ownership of cleanliness and overall organization of warehouse.
• Accountability for warehouse safety protocol and adherence by all team members.
• Demonstrate a willingness to do exceed stakeholder expectations and strive for excellence.
The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in physical inventory(s) and ensure proper stock rotation
• Assist with shop stake truck driving from time to time
• Responsible for training drivers on general driving, pickup and drop off procedures
• Performs other job functions as assigned
