What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Construction Inspector position at AMT Engineering?
A. Morton Thomas & Associates, Inc. (AMT, Inc.) is hiring Construction Inspectors in the Transportation sector to support projects throughout the VDOT Fredericksburg District and surrounding areas of Northern Neck and Saluda Residencies. As part of this team, you will be immersed in a culture reflective of a smaller firm while providing the resources and technical strength of a larger company. Interested applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, be available for night work, OT and/or weekends as needed, capable of working independently and within a team, and subject to background check. Applicants preferred to have experience with paving, roadway and bridge construction inspection and records keeping.
\n- Verification of all work performed being in accordance with plans & contractual specs
- Measurement & verification of quantities, dimensions & specifications
- Act as a liaison between VDOT and prime contractor
- 3 years of transportation construction experience, ideally within the State of Virginia.
- Required certifications preferred but class enrollment for certifications will be made for candidates with applicable construction inspection experience
