Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Network Technician to assist with the setup and configuration of Corning and ONT-based network systems. This role does not involve fiber cabling, termination, or splicing—instead, the focus is on provisioning and configuring network services on pre-installed fiber infrastructure, primarily from the ONT or Corning hardware side.
Key responsibilities: Set up and configure Corning network hardware and ONT devices
- Configure network hardware (ONTs, routers, switches).
- Set up IP addresses, connect devices, and activate network ports.
- Perform network provisioning and support tasks on Coring / Tellabs fiber-fed systems
- Work alongside cabling teams to validate and activate services and trouble shoot Fiber, ONT and network switches.
- Verify connectivity, test endpoints, and support field deployments
- Document configurations and assist with escalation troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in network setup or telecom/ISP environments
- Familiarity with Corning systems and Optical Network Terminals (ONTs)
- Knowledge of PON networking
- Ability to follow network diagrams and scope-of-work documentation
- Corning, Cisco, or BICSI certifications are a plus
