Cup/Cone Inspector - Grinding D (Day) Shift

In this role you will inspect machined and fabricated parts for conformance to print/specifications and Amsted Rail workmanship expectations. You may be assigned to inspect raw materials and/or parts, commodities or services performed by sub-contractors to determine conformance to specification, requirements or print. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements, defined by Amsted Rail policy and proceduresPossess an understanding of the manufacturing process, supporting production personnel in meeting functional and dimensional expectations as specifiedAssist in first piece inspection with confidence and accuracyDemonstrate a working knowledge of critical part dimension and apply to the inspection processPerform visual and dimensional inspection of partsOperate measuring equipment (e.g., auto gauge, bench gauge, roundness tester, and hardness tester) with efficiency and accuracyMark items with details such as acceptance or rejection statusRecord inspection or test data as instructed, following established quality proceduresSegregate and identify product per applicable procedure(s)Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problemsDiscuss inspection results with those responsible for productMaintain work area cleanliness and organization throughout the shiftPerform other duties as assigned, including basic equipment operation, product packing, and material handlingTo be considered a candidate must be able to meet the following qualifications:Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screeningLift, push & pull up to 50 lbs.Wear department required, employer provided, personal protection equipment (PPE)Be able to regularly stand and move throughout the department and shiftMechanical aptitude and prior industrial experience a plusWhat We offer:Employee Stock Ownership Program (100% employee owned through ESOP)Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, healthcare/flexible spending, and 401(k))Annual bonus potential Gym membership reimbursement and corporate discount programsIn-house training, tuition reimbursement, and pay for skill (experience pay, annual merit and skill progression increases)Access to BRENCO Park, our on-site recreational facility with seasonal swimming pool, fishing pond, softball field, basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts
