What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Electrical Engineer position at Amsted Rail Company?
Duties included
- Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulations.
- Drafts capital budget requests
- Creates specifications for competitive bids on equipment, systems, and construction/installation services
- Coordinates and controls the work of contractors and equipment suppliers
- Implements new technologies to solve problems and to upgrade existing facilities
- Prepares reports and presentations as needed
- Leads/participates in continuous improvement projects
- Utilizes computer hardware and software to enhance data collection and analysis
- Drafts operating instructions and provides training on the operation of new equipment/facilities
- Supports Production and Maintenance as a technical resource
- Lead and supervise/manage in a union environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- B.S in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years' experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with high voltage
- Experience leading teams of hourly Electricians
