Imagine stepping onto the floor with a clear production plan, a capable crew of 10–18, and equipment that’s prepped because you aligned maintenance priorities in advance. You brief team leaders, coordinate with mechanics and electricians, and launch the shift in the middle foundry area. As heat after heat progresses, you’re orchestrating manpower, safeguarding quality to AAR and Griffin standards, and keeping the environment safe and orderly. When a line goes down, you quickly schedule and direct the repair so output stays on track.
Your mission- Own the shift plan for melt shop operations and deliver to production targets.
- Match manpower to changing priorities and reassign on the fly when needed.
- Lead equipment care—schedule, prioritize, and direct repairs and maintenance.
- Build talent—select, train, and inspire a high-performing, cost-effective team.
- Insist on safety and world-class housekeeping, every hour of every shift.
- Resolve first-step complaints and grievances promptly and fairly.
- Tackle other duties as needed to keep the operation moving.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll collaborate with:
- Office teams on customer shipping specs, the shipping schedule, recordkeeping, and inventory.
- The Quality Manager to ensure AAR and Griffin quality requirements are met.
- Operations, HR, and Safety Managers on discipline, attendance, and grievances.
- The Equipment Manager to drive TPM efforts.
- Materials/Storeroom for timely supplies.
- Vendors to validate proper product usage.
- AAR inspectors and customers who review plant operations.
- The Manager, Quality Assurance/Supervisor, Non-Destructive Testing System for help in problem areas.
- 3–5 years supervising in manufacturing.
- Experience with Non Destructive Testing, tooling, Quality Control (SPC), Safety, maintenance, and capital project management.
- Proven communication chops, strong leadership, and tight organizational habits.
