POSITION SUMMARY
The Storeroom Clerk maintains the storeroom applying knowledge of procedures to meet expectations and Amsted Rail procedures and standards. Performs routine manual and detailed clerical work involved with receiving, storing, stocking, forklift operation, and inventory duties including cycle counts in a storeroom.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program
- Unpacks and receives in incoming orders, checking against items listed on purchase orders, invoices or other order forms
- Lifts, stores, and delivers supplies and/or materials across the plant locations
- Assembles, adjusts in inventory systems and/or repairs articles carried in stock
- Counts, weighs, and/or marks items, as required for identification, using appropriate methods
- Conducts inventory counts and reconciliations and requests items as needed
- Fills orders and issues supplies in company inventory systems (SAP) upon proper authorization
- Resolve internal customer issues relating to the condition or availability of stored items
- Prepare inventory control of storeroom materials
- Maintains records and prepares necessary reports, using SAP and Microsoft Excel
- Ensure storeroom is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion
- Communicates directly with vendors on the phone, in person, and in writing, on matters relating to supplies
- Packages materials for shipping
- Performs routine custodial or maintenance duties
- Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Lead or Supervisor.
To be considered a candidate must be able to meet the following qualifications:
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug & background screening
- Lift, push & pull 10 to 50 lbs. regularly
- Wear department required, employer provided, personal protection equipment (PPE)
- Be able to regularly stand and move throughout the department and shift
- Inventory management/SAP system and industrial experience a plus
