Amstar, Inc. is a growing commercial construction company delivering projects across Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Over the last several years, we have expanded our capabilities, strengthened our presence in the Job Order Contracting (JOC) market, and built a reputation for quality, integrity, and client service.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Project Executive to join our leadership team.
This is more than a traditional project oversight role. We are looking for a proven construction leader who can help drive the next phase of Amstar's growth by developing high-performing teams, strengthening operational processes, maintaining exceptional client relationships, and ensuring financial accountability across multiple projects and programs.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong mentor, and operational leader who understands how to build teams, drive results, and create scalable processes that support long-term success.
What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
- Lead and oversee multiple commercial construction projects and JOC programs from planning through closeout.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to Project Managers and project teams.
- Establish and maintain operational standards that support consistent project execution across the organization.
- Drive accountability for project schedules, client communication, forecasting, billing, and overall project performance.
Team Development
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support succession planning and professional development within the operations team.
Financial Performance
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, billing, collections, and profitability.
- Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Partner with executive leadership to improve operational efficiency and maximize project outcomes.
Client Relationships & Growth
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and executive point of contact for key accounts.
- Support business development efforts, contract expansion opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Help strengthen Amstar's position as a leading commercial construction and JOC contractor.
Quality & Risk Management
- Partner with Operations and Quality Control leadership to ensure projects meet company standards and client expectations.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 10 years of commercial construction experience.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing Project Managers and construction teams.
- Demonstrated success overseeing multiple projects, programs, or portfolios simultaneously.
- Experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) programs strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, billing, cost controls, and profitability management.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management software platforms.
