What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at AMSI APPLIED MATERIAL SOLUTIONS INC?
Major Function:
Direct the financial affairs of the organization and prepare financial analyses of operations, prepare interim and final financial statements and related schedules. Lead the organization’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices and information systems. Supervise/manage the organization’s financial, human resource and IT functions.
Major Duties:
- Develop, analyze and interpret financial and statistical information in order to appraise profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Maintain the organization’s system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning, reporting and control procedures as required by management and other internal customers.
- Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for protection against property loss and potential liabilities.
- Provide effective and timely financial controls for the organization.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:
Physical Requirements: Able to perform duties standard office duties as needed.

Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting with CPA and/or MBA required.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial and cost accounting.
- At least 3 years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Strong GAAP, financial reporting, supervisory/management and computer skills.
- Must be a team player with an exceptional work ethic and ability to process multiple priorities.
