What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wire Technician position at Amsco US?
Established in 1985, Amsco U.S. is a leading manufacturer of Wire Harness and Cable Assemblies supporting the Aviation, Space, Electric Vehicle, Automotive, Appliance, Lighting, HVAC, among other OEMs in a variety of industries. POSITION OVERVIEW
Wire Harness Technician / R&D / Document Control will produce Manufacturing Work Instructions, including BOMs, Cut-Lists, Parts List, Specified Instructions, etc. Full creation of Work Travelers. Create customer First Articles and In-House Samples. Revision changes, document changes. Reverse engineering. Ability to do internet research, parts search, tooling search, etc. Knowledge in CAD, Wire Harness drawing programs a huge plus.
Ability to work independently and report to VP, Sales, and upper Management.
A background in Electronic Assemblies is preferred. Work experience in the field is recommended. College internship experience is also acceptable.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & TASKS
Experience working on any one or more of the following: If candidate carrier 3-5 of the following Skills & Task, it is much appreciated.
Proficient in electrical drawings & schematics, engineering orders, assembly routes, work orders, travelers, BOMs, and quality directives. Create cable and harness assemblies from schematics. Can create neat and efficient cable routing for various projects. Manages the creation of “pegboards” for production assembly of wire harnesses.
Ability to update or create wire assemblies in CAD along with written assembly instruction.
Effective using hand, electric, and pneumatic tools typical of electrical assembly.
Calibrate crimping machines, wire cutting and stripping machines.
Safety awareness for electrical components and warehouse procedures
Candidate must be a self-starter, good critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, the ability to resolve issues, and can multitask
Minimum of 2 years electronics assembly experience required (5 years preferred).
Education minimum: Technical certification or equivalent experience in related fields over two years.
Fluent in technical English, Spanish is a plus and can work in a team environment.
Monday - Friday. 7 AM to 3:30 PM
Pay rate dependent on experience.
