Position Summary
The Director of Sales leads all sales efforts for Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences, a luxury wellness destination on Singer Island. This role drives room revenue performance by cultivating key accounts, developing new business, mentoring the sales team, and implementing strategies that position the resort as a premier choice for both leisure and group travelers. The Director of Sales balances strategic planning with hands-on selling to maximize market share, revenue, and profitability.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance for the Sales & Catering Managers and Sales Coordinators.
- Develop and manage proactive sales strategies for group and transient markets to achieve revenue goals.
- Conduct effective sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, and industry networking.
- Build and grow relationships with accounts in assigned markets; maintain an active solicitation program.
- Work closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, promotions, and need-period strategies.
- Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends to adjust selling strategies accordingly.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including forecasts, budgets, and key sales objectives.
- Ensure consistent use of the resort’s sales systems (e.g., GDS, Delphi/FDC, rate-loading platforms).
- Lead weekly sales meetings and daily business review meetings.
- Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, client functions, and community activities.
- Maintain high service standards when interacting with clients, guests, and internal partners.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience, including supervisory responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Strong understanding of luxury and lifestyle segments; wellness resort experience a plus.
- Proficient in Windows-based systems, Excel, Word, and hospitality sales technology.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the property and conduct site inspections.
- Light physical work (up to 20 lbs.).
- Availability for extended or irregular hours as business requires.
