Responsibilities

a) Telecom Domain (Network & Cable)

b) DOCSIS/SONU Domain Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of DOCSIS and SONU standards and protocols to architect

c) Cloud-Native Expertise: Drive the adoption and optimization of AWS services and Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and scaling device activation applications ( EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch )

d) ACS Adapter Integration: Provide expert-level guidance and hands-on experience

Responsibilities:

1. Architectural Leadership: Lead the end-to-end architectural design and technical roadmap for device activation applications, specifically focusing on cable modems and DOCSIS/SONU devices.

2. Solution Design & Development: Design and oversee the development of highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant solutions for device activation, provisioning, and lifecycle management. This includes defining technical specifications, data models, and API contracts.

3. Responsible for application support, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and resolution to ensure system stability and performance.

4. Cloud-Native Expertise: Drive the adoption and optimization of AWS services and Kubernetes for deploying, managing, and scaling device activation applications. Ensure solutions are cloud-agnostic where appropriate and leverage best practices for cloud security and cost optimization.

5. Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Act as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting complex technical issues related to device activation, connectivity, and application performance. Utilize Splunk logs and other monitoring tools extensively for in-depth analysis and root cause identification.

6. System Performance & Monitoring: Establish robust monitoring strategies using Splunk and other tools to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, system anomalies, and potential outages within the device activation ecosystem.

7. ACS Adapter Integration: Provide expert-level guidance and hands-on experience with ACS Adapter integration, ensuring seamless communication and control of devices.

8. DOCSIS/SONU Domain Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of DOCSIS and SONU standards and protocols to architect and troubleshoot device activation flows, addressing specific challenges related to these technologies.

9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, engineering teams, operations, and external vendors to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure successful implementation and deployment.

10. Technical Mentorship & Governance: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and best practices. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and establish architectural governance processes.

11. Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud computing, telecommunications, and device management to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the activation platform.

12. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, design specifications, and technical diagrams.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. 10 years of progressive experience in software development and architecture roles, with a significant focus on high-volume, mission-critical applications.

2. 5 years of experience specifically within the Telecom domain, with a strong understanding of device activation, provisioning, and network operations.

3. Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, management, and troubleshooting of containerized applications in production environments.

4. In-depth experience with Splunk logs and monitoring solutions, including query development, dashboard creation, and alert configuration for proactive issue detection and root cause analysis.

5. Demonstrated expertise with ACS Adapter technologies and their application in device management and activation.

6. Profound understanding of DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) and SONU (Service Over Next-generation Passive Optical Network Units) standards and device functionalities.

7. Exceptional application understanding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical problems across distributed systems.

8. Strong programming skills in at least one relevant language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js).

9. Experience with API design (RESTful, GraphQL) and microservices architecture.

10. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

11. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

12. Expert-level proficiency in AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and relevant networking concepts.
