What You’ll Do
As a Class A Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds and fabricated assemblies while maintaining safety and efficiency on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel
- Fabricate and assemble projects (approximately 60% of the role)
- Read and interpret blueprints and part lists
- Brace, straighten, and prepare projects prior to welding
- Grind, clean, and finish welded parts
- Inspect materials and completed welds for quality and accuracy
- Maintain welding tools and shop equipment
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe workstation
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of MIG and TIG welding experience
- Experience welding stainless steel
- Ability to read blueprints and measure accurately
- Comfortable using shop tools safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school training or equivalent hands-on experience
- Basic understanding of fabricated equipment functionality
- Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics (when applicable)
This position is ideal for welders who want to grow their skills and advance within the department.
- Training and progression are based on performance and skill level
- Advancement requires passing a skills test
- Employees must remain in their current class for a minimum of 90 days before promotion consideration
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand, walk, squat, reach, and work on feet for extended periods
- Use hands for handling, welding, and fabrication tasks
- Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toe boots
- Strong vision abilities, including depth perception and color vision
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work professionally with teammates, supervisors, and customers
- Maintain a respectful and team-oriented attitude
- No travel required
