Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges with speed and precision
• Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities that enhance the customer experience
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and displayed for easy access
• Assist with merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods securely while adhering to cash handling procedures
• Use effective phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders remotely
• Support inventory management through stock replenishment and participating in periodic stock counts

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers and team members
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our multicultural customer base effectively
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus; training will be provided if needed
• Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a busy retail setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated
• Familiarity with merchandising, stocking, product demos, upselling techniques, and phone etiquette enhances your fit for this role
