Amplify Fitness is looking for a friendly and positive person to be in charge of operating the reception desk at our gym. You will be the first point of contact for everyone who enters our facility. We prioritize community, inclusion and recognizing fitness as fun.
Responsibilities:
- Greet members and prospective members in a warm and friendly manner
- Answer phones
- Respond to general email
- Learn and understand our software to assist with day-to-day operations (checking members into the club, scheduling appointments, reviewing billing summaries, etc.)
- Open and/or close the gym
- Accept deliveries
- Handle/record small cash payments
- Basic computer knowledge (word, excel, powerpoint)
- Give occasional tours to prospective new members
- Ability to demonstrate how to use any equipment in the gym (We will teach you!)
- Occasional membership sales
- Wash and fold towels
- Assist all staff with keeping the facility clean and tidy
- Attend member and community events at the gym
Facility:
- Our gym has a loaded strength-training area, cardio section, turf floor, and two ninja obstacle areas. We also have full locker rooms with showers. All staff can work out at the gym for free, including any classes that don’t occur during a shift.
Location:
- Amplify Fitness is located along the Charles River at 1230 Soldiers Field Road, Boston. Parking is plentiful, but we encourage you to use green transportation. The 70 and 86 bus stops are one block away, and we have a bike rack. The closest T stop is Boston Landing, 0.7 miles away.
Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Punctual, reliable, and able to keep to a regular schedule
- Manage multiple guests at one time
- Professional and respectful to staff and members
- Team-oriented. We all help each other out!
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification is required, but Amplify will provide free certification to any staff who do not currently have one.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- May require standing for long periods. Some bending, twisting and lifting.
- Regular participation in member and community events.
