Job Summary:

LPN and/or RN is responsible for the service delivery in assessment, development, implementation, and coordination of nursing services. Nursing services are provided to enable an eligible child to benefit from early intervention services during the time that the child is receiving other early intervention services and include the assessment of health status for the purpose of providing nursing care; the identification of patterns of human response to actual or potential health problems; provision of nursing care to prevent health problems, restore or improve functioning, and promote optimal health and development; and administration of medication, treatments, and regimens prescribed by a licensed physician.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program approved by the New Mexico Board of Nursing (NMBON)
  • Licensure from the New Mexico Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or licensed Practical Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works towards fulfilling Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Provides targeted, evidence-based assessment and intervention to enable the child to benefit from early intervention services.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual treatment programs. 
  • Monitors and reassess the effects of nursing intervention and the need to continue, modify, or discontinue intervention.
  • Teaches, monitors, and collaborates with support personnel and family/child to facilitate skills in areas of development as well as health maintenance and safety.
  • Participates in team discussions in an articulate, positive, and productive manner.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in proper working order.   Perform routine repairs.
  • Instructs staff, as assigned, in principles used in nursing.
  • Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attends departmental/business staff development activities.
  • Maintains proficiency in nursing by attending workshops, conferences and trainings.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services and participate in Company committees as requested by supervisor.
  • May represent the Company while participating in community outreach events, activities, meetings, trainings, etc. 
  • Responds to emergency situations in a competent manner. 
  • Adheres to Nursing licensure requirements.
  • Adheres to established Company guidelines within Company’s Official Documents.
  • Assists in quality management, research, public relations, and program development projects when appropriate.
  • Participates in Company’s Professional Development Plan.
  • May be assigned to be a clinical supervisor for assistant level students.
  • To carry out all responsibilities professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain effective communications at all levels; within the work setting and company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the Company, service delivery settings will vary.  Must be able to adapt to a variety of settings and be willing to work in clinical, community, and home settings.
  • Work area may be crowded.
  • Working schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
  • Duties may involve being on one’s feet for extended periods.
  • Duties may involve traveling to and from areas within the western region of New Mexico.
  • Duties may involve exposure to hazardous conditions using power tools, contagious diseases, and chemicals to repair/adjust patient equipment.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
