Infrastructure Technician

Ready to take your technical skills to the next level? As an Infrastructure Technician at Amplex, you'll play a key role in keeping our network running smoothly and helping build and maintain the infrastructure that connects our customers. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems, working with technology, and learning something new every day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Configures, plans, monitors and reports on radios, both point to point and point to multipoint.
● Coordinates with license management contractor and documents all aspects of FCC licensing for the above-mentioned radios.
● Configures and maintains all equipment including but not limited to AP’s, BH’s, Switches,
ONT/OLT, power & timing, and other miscellaneous equipment. Update and create
documentation as needed.
● Process testing and RMA’s of defective equipment.
● Provide inventory control and new equipment evaluation.
● Provides outage response and prep replacement tower equipment as necessary.
● Participate in shared on call support rotation for the NOC department.
● Assist with special projects within the NOC, Business, and Operations departments.
● Act as an escalation contact for the CSR department
● Plan, coordinate, and execute test and turn-up of outside plant equipment in conjunction with fiber and tower crews
● RF and network design for high availability tower site deployments and upgrades, including ACUPS, DC rectifier, ethernet switching, GPS and timing, PTP and PMP radio systems
● Maintain configuration consistency and rollout software upgrades across the network
● Assist with R&D and new product development
● RF planning, including coordination with third parties, for unlicensed bands
● Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

● 3 years’ experience in a NOC, ISP, or similar network operations environment..

● Ability to work onsite in a structured shift environment.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

● Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and IP addressing.

● Experience troubleshooting routing and switching in production environments.

● Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking principles.

● Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and emergency response outside of regular hours.

PREFERRED/ DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS

CCNA / CCNP, CompTIA Network , Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS, Relevant Microsoft or Fortinet certifications

PREFERRED/ DESIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Experience in Service Provider networks (ISP environment), Routing protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, EVPN, Technologies: VLAN, TCP/IP, STP, IPv4 subnetting, Understanding of CGNAT, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, Basic RF concepts and PTMP/PTP wireless systems, Scripting or automation knowledge (Python, Ansible, PowerShell), Experience with Microsoft 365 tools.

SCHEDULE

This is a fully in-office position, Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM with an on-call rotation. No remote or hybrid opportunity.

**Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. We are a dog friendly office!**

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
