What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Reporting Specialist position at Ampla Health?
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The IT Reporting Specialist will serve as a pivotal resource within our organization, primarily focusing on multi-departmental report writing, including but not limited to Quality, Clinical, Pharmacy, IT, Finance, Dental, Operations, and administrative departments. This role necessitates significant interaction with various departments, with a heavy emphasis on Quality, to fulfil numerous report requests.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Develop, write, and manage reports for multiple departments as per their specific requirements.
- Work extensively with the Quality department, focusing on HEDIS, UDS, GAPs in Care data.
- Mine data from various sources, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data used.
- Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to identify reporting needs, gather requirements, and deliver suitable solutions.
- Utilize SQL, IBM Cognos, or other reporting platforms to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Validate and cross-verify data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data analysis techniques and reporting platforms.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- AA degree in Information Technology or at least 1-year prior analytical reporting, quality reporting, or other healthcare reporting experience desired
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with SQL, IBM Cognos, or other similar reporting platforms.
- Prior experience in report writing and data analysis is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a health care environment, specifically a FQHC, is an asset.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft SQL databases
- Experience with Electronic Medical/Dental Records system required.

- Proficient in SQL and familiar with IBM Cognos or other reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into understandable reports or presentations.
