General Purpose
Under the supervision of the Enhanced Care Coordination (ECC) Program Manager, the CalAIM Assistant Manager supports daily operations of the CalAIM program and supervises Lead Case Managers. This role ensures program performance goals and KPIs are met while supporting enhanced care management, community support services, and comprehensive care planning for patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising Lead Case Managers and supporting daily program operations

  • Monitor staff productivity, caseloads, and KPIs to ensure program goals are met

  • Assign referrals and support outreach and enrollment for CalAIM services

  • Track program metrics and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports

  • Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and compliance with program guidelines

  • Support staff onboarding, training, and ongoing development

  • Participate in audits, quality management activities, and program improvement efforts

  • Coordinate communication with internal teams, community partners, and external agencies

  • Assist with recruiting, evaluations, scheduling, and timecard approvals for program staff

  • Help resolve patient concerns and operational issues

  • Serve as liaison with community organizations to support patient resources and services

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, healthcare management, nursing, or related field required

  • Minimum two years of healthcare experience; case management experience preferred

  • Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience

  • Knowledge of CalAIM programs, care coordination, and community resources preferred

  • Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Work Environment
Work may occur in office settings, patient homes, or community locations. Travel within the service area may be required.

 

Qualifications:

 

QUALIFICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in health administration, public health, healthcare management, business administration, public administration, nursing, or an equivalent field required.
  2. Current CPR certification required.
  3. Minimum two years of experience in a healthcare setting, with a preference for case management and care planning experience.
  4. Minimum two years of supervisory experience, demonstrating proven leadership in staff supervision, training, and team development.
  5. Strong understanding of medical terminology, Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) requirements, and regulatory guidelines related to case management.
  6. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, including the Care Plan module.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
  8. Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
  9. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  10. Maintains expertise in CalAIM programs, including services, eligibility, enrollment, and billing processes.
  11. Strong knowledge of community resources, with experience coordinating services with local and regional agencies and a willingness to expand professional networks.
  12.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other relevant software.
  13. Valid California Driver's License, proof of insurance, and access to personal transportation required.

  1. Must have neat, legible handwriting.
  2. Must be able to interact with patients courteously and calmly.
  3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
  4. Must utilize strong verbal and written communication skills.
