Team Lead, AutoCAD Drafter

We are looking for a new Drafting Team Lead in our Metairie office! After a 6 month training program in our Covington Office, you will transition to the Metairie office to manage teams in Metairie.

What You’ll Do

Are you ready to lead, mentor, and inspire a talented team of drafting professionals? We’re seeking a Relay Drafting Team Lead who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions. In this pivotal role, you’ll guide a team of drafting specialists, ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

• Lead & Mentor: Provide direction, coaching, and support to your drafting team, fostering communication and team cohesion.
• Project Oversight: Monitor project progress, address challenges, and ensure accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
• Resource Management: Assist the supervisor with project pipeline, team workload, and resource allocation.
• Quality Assurance: Back-check team members’ work, uphold drafting standards, and ensure compliance with company core values.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering to deliver designs that meet customer standards.
• Hiring & Evaluation: Participate in hiring and evaluating team members.
• Documentation: Create drawing packages including Protection & Controls and Substation deliverables.
• Administrative: Approve and verify team member timesheets.
  
  

What You Bring

🎓 Education: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology, Drafting, or Design

📊 Experience

• Level III: 2 years of industry experience with associate/technical degree or 6 months to 1 year with a 4-year degree
• Senior: 4 years of industry experience with associate/technical degree or 2 years with a 4-year degree

• Experience with AutoCAD required
