Your Role: Associate Staff Engineer
The Substation Associate Staff Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the electrical design team. They will serve as a role model to other engineers by providing support and training to the work group. The Associate Staff Engineer will also provide backup support for design supervisors when needed including quality checks for design packages, stamping drawings and meeting with clients. This position requires a Professional Engineering license.

Essential Job Duties
- Prepares scopes of work and estimates for evaluating and designing substations.
- Interfaces with other company functions, clients and vendors.
- Performs engineering design tasks for substation projects
- Provides expert guidance, direction and oversight on substation engineering design projects, tasks, and related efforts.
- Supports internal initiatives and efforts focused on growth, improvement, and collaboration across business lines.
- Prepares technical training on a variety topics for lunch and learn sessions with the work group.
- Teaches, mentors, and supports other team members in the development of substation design packages.
- Performs quality checks for substation packages to ensure company, industry and customer standards and requirements are met.
- 15 years of substation design experience in the electric utility industry or equivalent.
- Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects related to high voltage substation engineering.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Recognized as an expert in the industry with proven industry support on IEEE committees, conference committees, etc.
