Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities
- Under general direction, verifies and approves machine set-ups using production documentation, quality documentation and measurement of sample components
- Evaluates process, by monitoring SPC data for Cpk trends and stops jobs as required.
- Re-qualifies jobs and modifies the statistical data before resumption of production.
- Audit incoming purchase and processed material
- Performs machine capability studies and reports non-capable conditions.
- Monitors equipment calibration and takes action as required.
- Logs data and maintains the quality data database for all production.
- Process Non-conforming Material Report paperwork and assist with disposition of material
- Train department staff to SPC and Gage Talker operation.
- Program comparator and video systems to support set-up verification and production inspection requirements by operators and set-up staff.
- Audits problem part production as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
High school or equivalent. Machining experience preferred, preferably in metal fabrication. Must be able to read and write English as well as having basic mathematical skills. Must be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing measuring instruments and engineering drawings. Computer database experience required to enter and maintain records.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk, bend, and lift up to 35 lbs. Must have manual dexterity in order to run the machines.Must be able to climb stairs.Must be able to stand for long periods of time during the workweek. May be exposed to manufacturing conditions, as well as exposure to coolants and cutting oils.
