Position Summary
The Machine Technician is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining precision manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, Swiss lathes, DMG milling centers, stamping presses, and Radsok assembly systems. This role ensures optimal machine performance, product quality, and minimal downtime through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC, Swiss lathe, DMG milling machines, stamping presses, and automated systems per engineering specifications.
Perform tooling changes, offsets, and program adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance and document all service activities.
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM).
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and reduce scrap.
Maintain accurate records of machine performance, repairs, and parts inventory.
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC, Swiss lathe, and/or DMG machines.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred
Certification in CNC machining or mechatronics (NIMS or equivalent).
Experience with Radsok assembly and stamping operations.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proficient in precision measurement tools and shop math.
Familiarity with G-code programming and machine controls.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise, oils, and industrial materials. Must be able to work overtime or weekends as needed.
