SUMMARY
Amphenol CDI is seeking a technically fluent, results-driven Regional Sales Manager to lead growth across the Central U.S., including key markets such as Texas, Colorado, Utah, and beyond. This role will be instrumental in executing our regional strategy in core markets like defense, aerospace, and test & measurement—while also serving as a sector ambassador for our growing presence in the quantum and cryogenic computing industries.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of relationship-building skills, technical curiosity, and a strong command of strategic account development. With full organizational support behind them, this RSM will take ownership of the region’s performance, drive new design wins, and act as a key conduit for Voice of Customer feedback to inform next-generation interconnect solutions. This is a remote role with frequent regional travel and periodic on-site presence at our Cerritos, CA facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Act as a sector ambassador in the quantum and cryogenic space, engaging with national labs, startups, OEMs, and research institutions to position CDI as a go-to interconnect partner.
- Present Amphenol CDI’s technical capabilities—such as ganged coax assemblies, cryo-rated semi-rigid cabling, and high-performance connectors that mate to custom PCB solutions—at the engineering level.
- Lead and support manufacturer’s representatives within the territory, ensuring execution of account strategies and evaluating rep performance.
- Build and manage a dynamic pipeline of opportunities using CRM and forecasting tools, with a strong emphasis on new design wins and strategic pursuits.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and marketing to deliver customer-informed solutions and feed Voice of Customer insights into new product development.
- Lead joint visits with distributors and rep firms to support key accounts, with a focus on technical engagement and commercial follow-up.
- Monitor competitor positioning, market trends, and application shifts across the region, especially within frontier sectors like quantum computing.
- Deliver regular territory reports, sales forecasts, and account updates aligned with team KPIs and strategic plan goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5–10 years of technical sales experience in electronic components, interconnects, or RF/microwave systems—military/defense or commercial electronics experience strongly preferred.
- Experience or strong interest in quantum computing, cryogenic systems, or emerging deep-tech industries is a plus.
- Proven ability to grow a sales territory, capture design wins, and lead complex customer engagements.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

SALARY INFORMATION:
According to several states' laws, this position's salary range falls between $120,000 and $150,000 annually. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, AmphenolCDI considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
