What are the responsibilities and job description for the Programmer Analyst position at Amphenol Aerospace?

Analyze existing system logic modifying as necessary to provide more efficient business operations and/or flows.

The Role 

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Programmer Analyst to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The key responsibilities of this Programmer Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Code, tests and implement highly complex programs and embedded jobs
  • Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs
  • Prepares detailed specifications from user requirements which programs are developed and coded.
  • Creates appropriate documentation from work programming assignments
  • Gathers information from production systems, analyze user requirements to develop appropriate implementation schedules
  • Works with user to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility
  • Conducts peer reviews as part of separation of duties controls
  • Member of the department on-call team

The Person 

The key skills and qualities of a Programmer Analyst at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor Degree in computer science and 3 years' experience or equivalent of years of software development experience
  • 2 – 5 years' experience with high level programming languages, i.e. COBOL, RPG
  • Proficient with MS development tools and platforms
  • Understanding of diverse applications including C#, HTML and CL
  • Experience with network analytics tools
  • Experience designing and developing large scale enterprise projects
  • Strong programming skills
  • Strong business solution skills
  • Strong Analytical skills for design, creation and testing of applications and system flows
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Good leadership skills to guide and mentor those less experienced in areas of responsibility
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel and customers
