The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Product Manager (CORE) to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.
The Product Manager (CORE) has full P & L ownership in their respective product family(s). It is expected that the Product Manager will treat their product family(s) as their own business, developing intimate knowledge of market served, customers, application, competitors, costs, and margins. The Product Manager will work across functions to drive cost reduction initiatives, negotiate commercial opportunities, develop & deploy promotional activities, and execute new product introduction strategies.

- Develop product strategy and budget.
- Identify and execute on monthly order goals assisting sales in order closure.
- Target and implement cost reduction programs.
- Identify and prioritize new product needs and opportunities.
- Maintain technical expertise on product line.
- Review incoming margins daily, driving actions as needed.
- Meet margin expectations for both orders and revenue.
- Develop & execute pricing strategies.
- Provide for corporate contracts, maximizing both share and profit.
- Create and track cost estimates on new product.
- Utilize the Mar-Com team to develop content across web, print, and multi-media platforms.
- Develop regular promotional plans for product line.
- Consistently review competitor promotional positioning.
- Regularly visit key customers.
- Develop strong relationships with sales channel and collaborate on closing opportunities.
- Identify and drive channel strategy with distribution and OEM sales teams.
- Interface with distributors and distribution sales team to maximize Amphenol share of the shelf.
- Support training efforts for both direct sales and distribution teams.

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Product Manager (CORE) at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering preferred.
- Two years minimum of relevant experience.
- Interface at all levels of departmental and top management at Amphenol
- Must have the ability to promote and sell their products, be organized, and self-motivated
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and capable of learning and using Amphenol’s operating programs
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must have ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the CORE product line, including key accounts, strategic customers, costs and pricing, sales opportunities, competition, market conditions, manufacturing methods and opportunities
- The Product Manager will fully understand the primary objectives of the product line, and have the ability to work independently towards achieving goals
- Prolonged periods of sitting and typing
- Must be able to travel (air and car)
- Expected travel - 10 to 15%
