Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aMetrology Technicianto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.
TheMetrology Technicianis responsible for the programming and support of Amphenol Aerospace's AOIs (Automated Optical Inspection) and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machine), conducting RCAAs investigations, working with concerned parties to measure suspect material, and performing Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility.

The key responsibilities of theMetrology Technician positioninclude, but are not limited to:
- Program and support AOI and CMM platforms specific to measurements needed for product acceptance
- Document and maintain measurement work instructions for operators using this equipment
- Obtain regular professional training relative to programming packages for current software packages
- Conduct Gage Analysis and Machine acceptance on a standard basis
- Validate process improvements as required by Engineering and Process

The key skills and qualities of aMetrology Technicianat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
- AS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3 years of manufacturing experience or work in metrology environment preferred
- Experience with MicroVu Inspec Software, Keyence IM Series, Zeiss Calypso and/or Cognex In-Sight preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Comfortable with GD & T / Blueprint interpretation
- 3D modelling software experience: Creo/Pro-E preferred
- Minitab, 5S, 6 Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience with programming automatic test equipment is a plus
- Typical functions require maintaining a physical condition necessary for walking, sitting, or standing for prolonged periods of time
- Most time spent in these conditions is accommodated with proper human factors in mind (ie. Back support on chairs, fatigue mats, etc.) with frequent opportunity to change position
