What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Revenue Recognition position at Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc.?
A pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Rancho Cucamonga, California is looking for the talents of a Manager, Revenue Recognition to focus on the overall Gross-to-net (GTN) accounting process including but not limited to the rebate programs, returns, distributor fees, co-pay assistance and chargebacks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Partner with commercial and other cross-functional teams to analyze and influence contract proposals and incentives that may have revenue recognition implications.
- Monitor and analyze business trends, contractual agreements, and government regulations to ensure GTN accruals are appropriately calculated and recorded.
- Prepare value-added analyses to provide timely observations regarding GTN rates, adjustments, and trends.
- Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including but not limited to: sales and AR reconciliations, GTN accruals and related disclosures.
- Assist with maintaining all commercial GTN and order-to-cash accounting policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in consideration of SOX internal controls.
- Interact with internal and external auditors and provide relevant deliverables on a recurring basis.
- Perform other tasks and assist in special projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; and 5 years of GTN accounting experience, ideally within a publicly traded life sciences company. CPA is strongly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Process improvement and process innovation experience desired. Proficiency with accounting software and systems commonly used in the industry (preferably experience with SAP and Vistex). Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of professionals, including cross-functional partners, external auditors, and consultants. Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
